Paperback books (no hardback books), magazines, newspapers, and periodicals are permitted if, prepaid, sent directly from the distributor or non-retail outlet and delivered by the U.S Postal Service. What type of mail can an inmate receive?.There will be no exceptions for receiving inmate mail that does not follow the above guidelines. Any inmate magazines, bulk mailing, newspapers, or books that are sent to the central processing location in Texas will be returned to sender.Inmate magazines, bulk mailing, newspapers or books must continue to be sent to the Linn County Correctional Center utilizing the following format:.Inmate Magazines, Bulk Mailings, Newspapers and Books Envelopes containing inmate legal or medical paperwork must be clearly marked as such on the outside of the envelope.Inmate legal and medical mail must continue to be sent to the Linn County Correctional Center utilizing the following format:.Inmate Legal and Medical Mailing Guidelines By sending the inmate personal mail to the Texas central processing facility, you agree to the items being destroyed and understand that anything that you mail will not be returned or reimbursed for. This includes photos and anything else contained within the envelope and mailed to the processing facility. Once the mail is scanned, processed, and uploaded electronically to the kiosk, it will be destroyed. Important: Any inmate personal mail that is sent to the central processing center in Texas will not be returned to the sender or released to the inmate. No inmate legal or medical mail and no magazines, bulk mailing, newspapers, or books will be accepted at the central processing center address (see below).Any personal mail that is sent directly to the Linn County Correctional Center will be returned to the sender.
If more than 1 photo is mailed, the entire letter and all of its contents will all be returned to sender, and nothing will be scanned and delivered to the inmate.

All envelopes and mail must include the inmate’s full name and a return address.All mail must conform to existing Linn County Correctional Center mail rules.The inmate can then view it on the kiosk in their living unit. Once inmate personal mail is received for processing, it will be scanned at the central processing location and will then be sent to the inmate electronically via the same messaging system referenced above. Inmate Name (First, Middle, and Last name) New Procedure for Processing Inmate Personal Mailīeginning July 1, 2022, all inmate personal mail must be mailed to the following central processing center address for scanning and electronic delivery to the inmate: Inmates will receive the messages instantly and there will be no limit on how many messages that can be sent to the inmates. This is much cheaper than paying for postage and envelopes and is quicker than mailing a letter. The Linn County Correctional Center now has a quicker and more efficient method to send inmates messages through an Inmate Messaging system. In an effort to keep contraband out of the Linn County Correctional Center, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office is implementing a new system for sending personal mail to inmates.
